Biography

Bill Forman is recently retired from a 40 year career in human services, advocacy and teaching. He has taught at all levels, from young children with disabilities to adults in university and college preparing for careers in human services.

For 15 years, Bill was Executive Director of a supported employment agency founded on the principles of Normalization and, later, Social Role Valorization. He served as President of the Board of Directors of Calgary Citizen Advocacy, and was a founding member of the Alberta Safeguards Foundation, an organization committed to the dissemination and application of SRV theory and allegiance to devalued persons. He also enjoys associations with the SRV Implementation Project in Worcester, Massachusetts, the SRV Council, and the Training Institute at Syracuse University. Bill now lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, and continues to maintain a private consulting business, teaching Social Role Valorization and advising on its implementation.
